YOU MISSED IT! – Tsunami of Sound at Wex Rex

If you weren’t at Wex Rex on Saturday, August 1st, you missed one of the most electrifying nights of our Storefront Storytellers series. Tsunami of Sound brought their multimedia concert Legends of Surf Rock to the Wex Rex Gallery, and the room was absolutely buzzing.

The tremendous trio – Dave Esposito on guitar, Squid Caesar on bass, and Tom Brodeur on drums – delivered a powerhouse performance celebrating the California surf sound that changed rock & roll forever. With live narration by Gary Sohmers, rare video clips, historic images, and stories behind the music, the audience was taken on a high‑energy ride through decades of reverb‑drenched classics.

From the pioneering fire of Dick Dale and the precision of The Ventures to modern surf icons like Los Straitjackets and Satans Pilgrims, the show captured the spirit, swagger, and sunshine of surf culture in a way only Tsunami of Sound can.

The crowd loved every minute – the music, the history, the humor, the storytelling – and the immersive experience proved once again why surf rock remains one of America’s most influential musical traditions.

Doors opened at 6, the show kicked off at 7, and the energy never dipped. Tickets were just $12 in advance and $15 at the door, and yes… all ages were welcome and parking was free.
